A Salesforce alternative for concierge teams
Salesforce is one of the most capable CRMs ever built. When you weigh it against a Salesforce alternative for concierge work, the real question is how much customization it would take to run member requests, vendors and commissions.
The short version
Salesforce is a general-purpose platform. It can model almost any business, which is why large sales and service organizations rely on it. That flexibility costs time: concierge concepts such as member preferences, dining and travel requests, vendor rates and booking commissions usually have to be built as custom objects and fields.
Many teams bring in a consultant or dedicated admin to design that setup and maintain it. AppExchange offers a vast catalog of add-ons, but assembling a concierge workflow from them is still a project.
MyRolodex starts from the other end. It is built only for luxury concierge and lifestyle management, so member profiles, request types, vendor tracking and commission logging are there on the first day. You give up Salesforce’s breadth, and in return your team is working in days.
Side by side, for concierge work
| What you need | Salesforce | MyRolodex |
|---|---|---|
| Member preferences, family and loyalty programs | Possible with custom objects and fields | Part of every member profile |
| Dining, travel and gifting requests | Configured to your process, often by an admin | Ready to use, with owners and status |
| Texts and emails from staff’s own phones and inboxes | Not built around personal phones; typically needs add-ons or custom setup | Syncs from iPhone, Android, Gmail and Outlook |
| Vendor rates and commission per booking | Requires custom setup | Logged on each request |
| AI suggestions | General AI features you configure for your use case | Concierge suggestions your team approves |
| A branded app for members | Available through separate portal products, with configuration | Included on iPhone, Android and the web |
| Encrypted document vault with expiry tracking | Requires custom setup | Built in, with an audit log of every view |
| Breadth of integrations and add-ons | Very large ecosystem, including AppExchange | Focused on the tools concierge teams use |
| Time to get running | Depends on scope; often a configuration project | Days |
When Salesforce is the better choice
If your concierge desk is one part of a large company that already runs sales, service and finance on Salesforce, staying put usually makes sense. Your data, reporting and admins are already there.
Salesforce is also the stronger pick if you need deep customization across many departments, complex sales pipelines, or integrations only its ecosystem offers. MyRolodex is deliberately narrow. If your needs reach well beyond members, requests and vendors, a general-purpose platform is the right tool.
Moving from Salesforce to MyRolodex
- 1
Export your records
Export members, contacts, vendors and recent request history from Salesforce as CSV files. We help you map custom fields onto MyRolodex profiles, so preferences you’ve already captured carry over.
- 2
Import members and vendors
Load members with their family details and loyalty numbers, then your vendor book. Rates and commission terms go onto each vendor record.
- 3
Connect email and phones
Each person on your team connects their Gmail or Outlook and their phone. From then on, conversations sync to the right member and request on their own.
- 4
Run both side by side, briefly
Keep Salesforce available for reference during a short overlap while new requests go through MyRolodex. Once everyone is confident, you retire the old setup.
MyRolodex vs Salesforce: common questions
Anything else, write to hello@myrolodexcrm.com.
Is MyRolodex a Salesforce app?
No. MyRolodex is a standalone CRM, not an AppExchange package. It holds its own member profiles, requests, vendors and documents, so you don’t need a Salesforce license or admin to run it. Most teams move their concierge work over entirely rather than splitting it across both.
Will we lose our custom fields when we switch?
No. Export custom fields along with your records and we’ll help you map them onto member and vendor profiles. Most concierge details, such as seating preferences, allergies and loyalty numbers, already have a home in MyRolodex, so few need a custom field at all.
Do we need a consultant to set up MyRolodex?
No. Member profiles, request types, vendor tracking and commission logging come ready to use. Setup means importing your members, connecting email and phones, and inviting your team, which most teams finish in days without outside help.
How does pricing compare with Salesforce?
Salesforce costs vary with the editions, add-ons and implementation work you choose, so a direct comparison depends on your setup. MyRolodex pricing is custom to your team and how you work. Book a walkthrough and we’ll put together a quote.
